On the eve of the fifth anniversary of the Iraq war, concerned local citizens held a candlelight vigil on Main Street in Pleasanton. They lit candles and gathered in small circles to read and hear the words of soldiers and others who have been personally affected by the war.
Each generation was present, with a distinct under-representation of college students. We interviewed vigil participants and Las Positas College students to compare and contrast views and attitudes about the war and protesting in general.
