Hollywood Public Relations Photography

I came across this photo of me backstage at the 50th Emmy Awards in 1998, and enjoyed the flood of memories from my work in entertainment PR photography. It took me some time to not get star-struck, but in those few years I met and worked with many cool people, like; Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern, Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce, Kate Mulgrew and George Takei, Drew Carey and my favorite, Bill Nye the Science Guy.

I worked the Emmy Awards and the Academy Awards, I got to drive my car where the trams operate at Universal Studios, and I rode the Superman ride at Magic Mountain about 40 times in a row as I snapped the trigger release to our camera mounted on the front of the car. These are but a few of the many stories I like to tell of my adventures back then.

Week after week my work appeared in the Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety, among many other publications. It was a tough, demanding job, which I did while also taking college classes and working nights as a waiter and bartender, but I have fun looking back at the opportunity I had to be out there, doing something unique.

I wish I removed the press pass!
